Surviving Summer

A Healing Circle for Women Grieving Suicide Loss

If summer feels harder than any other season, you're not imagining it — and you're not alone.

Research shows that summer, despite (or because of) its sunshine and celebration, is often the hardest season for people in grief. It's the season of family vacations, backyard cookouts, reunions, and "making memories" — and social media never lets us forget it. Every photo of a full table or a family beach trip can feel like a reminder of who's missing from yours.

If you've lost someone you love to suicide, this season can bring a particular kind of ache. The joy all around you doesn't cancel your grief — it can sharpen it.

This summer, you don't have to carry it alone.

I personally know how difficult this season is

Grief after suicide loss carries its own weight — the questions, the silence, the way people don't always know what to say. Add summer's spotlight on togetherness and celebration, and it can feel isolating in a whole new way.

This circle is a space to exhale. To be with women who get it. To learn tools that help you move through this season instead of just gritting your teeth through it.

As a fellow survivor of suicide loss, I know how hard this time of year can be.

On June 1, 2024, I lost my brother, Bill at the age of 60. Today, July 23, would have been his 63rd birthday.

In celebration of his life, I'm offering this series free of charge — no one should have to walk this journey alone.

Join Us for a 3-Week Healing Circle

Surviving Summer is a free virtual gathering for women grieving a loved one lost to suicide. Over three Tuesday evenings, we'll come together in community with other survivors — women who don't need it explained to them, because they know exactly how it feels.

Together, we'll:

  • Sit in honest, supportive community with women who truly understand this specific kind of loss

  • Learn somatic tools and techniques that have been instrumental in my own healing journey — practical ways to help your body process grief, not just your mind

  • Talk openly about why community isn't a "nice to have" in grief — it's essential

  • Make space for the parts of summer grief that feel too hard to say out loud anywhere else
